South Wales 13th and 14th February 2016
Needing to pop over the bridge to pick up a CNC Router allowed a weekend away. On Saturday we went across the bridge into Wales. A lunch time stop in Abergavenny - a busy market day. Big hot pork butties for the boys fueled the walk up Sugar Loaf - snow to play in on the way up but alas no views from the top today.
An after walk visit to Brecon and a visit to the ice cream parlor - yum.
A walk along the river, a Chinese take away for tea, and an early night in the van.
On the Sunday we popped up to Builth Wells to pick up the cutting machine, then it was back home via Costco for a new tyre treat for the van.
Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th Febuary 2016.
Having to pop over to London to pick James up early from Kelvedon Hatch camp (for work at Tesco Wednesday night) we thought we would make a weekend of it. A morning stop at Portishead and a walk around the marina for Billy. Next stop was Reading, a shop, a museum visit and a yummy scrummy buttie! We then drove through the woods to Stonerow to find the Maharajah's Well.
Next stop was Henly-on-Thames. A small shopping excursion and a lovely walk along the Thames path. Then it was on to Windsor to see the castle lit up - lovely. Then it was a Chinese stop at Slough before driving up to Fulmer to stop at Black Park for the night.
On Wednesday we started off with a lovely dog walk in Black Park. A drive through Uxbridge, Northolt, Ealing and Acton lead us to Paddington station - our planned meeting place. We parked up and walked through Hyde Park and Kensington gardens - the dog loved it!
Change of pick up plan gave a walk down the Mall - not Bill's favorite location but we saw some fabulous horses on route.
.
Reunited, we carried on our walk around the park along the Serpentine - even saw a heron!
Then it was a wet drive back along the M 4 to get James back in time for his shift.
